The mayor of Gandia  presented on the September 27 at a press conference a new tourist application that, under the Gandia Tour & Play title, has been developed by the Tourism Department of Gandia City Council and coofinanced by Interreg MED programme, with the aim of disseminating and publicizing the most singular spaces and tourist resources of our city.

This application invites visitors to discover Gandia in another way: through the game and new technologies. A whole tourist experience, in which the participants accumulate points and get prizes, carrying out the different missions and in the proposed objectives.

At the same time, the App includes the history and description of the main restored buildings and monuments of the city, as well as its natural spaces, in a playful way; in such a way that the visitor can visit our municipality in an interactive way, and discover with all the rich heritage, natural and cultural. The information is combined with images and videos, as well as geo-positioning and augmented reality.

In this digital platform, the user can also find out about the timetables to visit the monuments and will have access to an updated agenda about the events organized in the city.

This App is the result of work that has been done jointly by the institutions involved and professionals in the sector, within the framework of the European project Alter Eco, an initiative that pursues the sustainable local development of tourism, promoting the Mediterranean identity, with the implementation of alternative tourism strategies in six pilot projects, among which Gandia is located.

The application has been developed by the company Play & Go Experience, collaborator of the Alter Eco project, which received, in Fitur in 2018, the ITH (Smart Destination Awards) award for the best application of interaction with tourists and citizens.
